U.S. President Donald Trump expressed confidence that a deal for TikTok would be reached before the April 5 deadline for ByteDance to sell the app or face a U.S. ban.
Speaking aboard Air Force One, he said multiple buyers were interested and discussions with China were ongoing.
The law mandating TikTok’s divestment, citing national security concerns, took effect on January 19 but was delayed by Trump’s administration until April 5.
Despite previously seeking to ban TikTok, Trump now supports its survival, saying it helped him win young voters.
