I need your attention, I have a shocking news for you and I will like to remain completely anonymous. Whistleblowing Academic Fraud at the University of Ibadan Faculty of Law There has been a blatant case of result manipulation at the Faculty of Law, University of Ibadan, and it cannot be ignored. A student, who happens to be the niece of Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, was fraudulently awarded a first class in the recently released final-year results, despite the mathematical impossibility of such an upgrade. The Evidence 1. Her Academic Record – In 300 level, her CGPA was 3.17. – In 400 level, her CGPA dropped further to 3.06. – The official grading system at the University of Ibadan defines a first class as starting from 3.5. – There is no possible way to jump from 3.06 to 3.5+ in a single academic year. 2. The Initial Faculty List vs. the Final Results – Before the official release, the Faculty of Law privately sent out a list for final-year students to confirm name spellings. – That list had 27 students in the first class category—and she was not one of them. – Instead, she was listed under second class upper (3.0 – 3.49), where she rightfully belonged. – However, when the final official result was released, her name was mysteriously moved to first class, increasing the count from 27 to 28. 3. The WhatsApp Incident – A Red Flag – When the initial private list was shared, some students were so excited that they posted it on their WhatsApp status to celebrate. – Shortly after, the class rep sent a message instructing everyone to take the posts down. – The official reason given was that some students’ names were omitted or misspelled—which was true. – However, no one was mistakenly put in first class. The only major change between that list and the final results was the sudden appearance of one extra first class student—the governor’s niece. 4. University of Ibadan’s “Book of Life” Record – UI publicly releases a document nicknamed by students the “Book of Life” at the end of every session, containing every student’s GP. – This record confirms that in 300 level she had 3.17, in 400 level she had 3.06, and at no point was she close to a first class. – If the university tries to claim there was a miscalculation, why was she the only one affected? #### The Hypocrisy While this fraudulent upgrade was quietly arranged for one privileged student, seven other students were denied graduation simply because they were caught with phones in an exam hall. These students begged endlessly for leniency, but the faculty refused, citing discipline and integrity. Where is that same integrity now? This scandal is particularly disgraceful because it comes from the Faculty of Law—the very place meant to uphold justice and fairness. The University of Ibadan constantly prides itself as the “First and Best” institution in Nigeria, yet it is now embroiled in a case of blatant academic fraud. #### Call to Action This injustice must not be swept under the rug. I am attaching all relevant documents and proof to show that this is not speculation but cold, hard facts. The goal is to bring this to the attention of Nigerians—on Instagram, Twitter, news outlets, and every platform possible.
