The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, FAAN has broken its silence over the shutting of the Akure airport four days after the incident occurred.
FAAN said it shut the airport following damages wrecked at the airport following a torrential downpour that occurred on Monday.
Reports had revealed that the rain left different levels of damage on vital equipment and terminal buildings, staff quarters and other strategic sections at the airports.
In a statement today on its social media pages, FAAN apologised to passengers for any discomfort the development might have caused.
