A fire outbreak has destroyed sections of a storey building housing Ago Medical Centre, located off Ago Palace Way, Okota, Lagos.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) confirmed that the inferno was caused by a power surge, which led to a spark when public electricity was restored.
In a statement, LASEMA’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, said the agency activated its emergency response plan immediately after receiving distress calls.
He confirmed that no lives were lost and no injuries were recorded during the incident.
Oke-Osanyintolu further noted that emergency responders were able to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to adjoining buildings.
