President Bola Tinubu met with Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Wednesday night at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Akpabio’s motorcade was seen outside the president’s residence, but details of their discussion were not made public.
The meeting took place hours after the Senate summoned intelligence chiefs to investigate allegations by U.S. Congressman Perry Scott that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has funded terrorist groups, including Boko Haram.
The Senate’s decision followed a motion by Senator Mohammed Ndume (Borno South) on national security concerns.
During the plenary session, Akpabio said Nigeria would not allow USAID to continue operations if it is found guilty of sponsoring terrorism.
