The family of veteran musician, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has raised an alarm over his sudden disappearance.
According to reports, 2Baba left his home on February 10 wearing loungewear and without his bodyguard, leading his family to believe he was taking a short walk.
However, he has not returned since.
In a petition to the Department of State Service (DSS), the Idibia family expressed concern over his absence, noting that some friends claimed to have received messages from 2Baba soliciting financial help—a behavior they find unusual given his financial stability.
They also revealed that the singer, known for his dedication to his craft, has not been seen in the studio or attended to his work in recent days.
The family has called on security agencies to intervene and help locate him.
Meanwhile, 2Baba’s mother, Mrs. Rose Idibia, made an emotional appeal in a viral video, urging Nigerians, particularly Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru, to stay away from her son.
She attributed his recent actions to the emotional strain of his ongoing divorce from Annie Idibia and called on mothers nationwide to intervene in the situation.
She said in the video, “Good evening, Nigerians. My name is Mrs Rose Idibia, the mother of 2face. This message is for Miss Natasha Osawaru of Edo State. I’m calling on all mothers in Nigeria to help me beg her to free my son.
“My son is going through a divorce process, and he is clearly not in his right senses now. I know my son well. That is not him.
“Please Natasha, the beads you put on his hand and on his neck, remove them and free him.”The clip surfaced after a video surfaced showing 2face proposing to Osawaru during a private event.
