The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), has emphasised the necessity of effective monitoring and evaluation as a critical intervention to curb corruption in Nigeria.
He said these measures are essential for ensuring good governance, accountability, transparency, and efficiency in both public and private sectors.
Speaking today during the inauguration of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy 2022–2026 Monitoring and Evaluation Committee in Abuja, the AGF identified corruption as a significant challenge to Nigeria’s developmental goals.
He noted that there is an increase in demand from internal and external stakeholders for greater accountability in governance, stressing the need for results-based monitoring and evaluation frameworks to manage policies, programs, and projects aimed at combating corruption.
