The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction has debunked claims of a purported N50,000 Child Support Grant for Nigerian parents, describing it as fake.
In a statement issued in Abuja, the ministry’s Director of Information, Rhoda Iliya, warned the public to be cautious of fraudsters spreading the false information on social media.
“This is a scam trending on social media and has been tagged as fake news,” the statement said.
Iliya clarified that the ministry is not associated with the alleged registration portal and assured Nigerians that any legitimate program would be properly publicised.
She urged the public to avoid falling victim to scammers and advised them to alert their families and friends.
