Ekiti State University (EKSU) has been recognized as the number one state university in Nigeria and has secured the 12th position among over 270 universities nationwide, according to a comprehensive ranking list published by Times Higher Education for 2025, as reported by #TheCableIndex.
According to the Special Adviser to Ekiti State Governor on New Media, Gabriel Adesoji who made this known in statement today made available to VEONEWS, the prestigious accolade is a testament to the unwavering commitment to academic excellence demonstrated under the leadership of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.
The statement added that “The Ekiti State Government’s dedication to enhancing the educational landscape is further underscored by a significant increase in funding for EKSU’s subvention, rising from N260 million to N410 million. This substantial investment reflects the government’s belief in the transformative power of education and its critical role in fostering sustainable development”.
“Under the visionary guidance of the new Vice Chancellor, Professor Joseph Babatola Ayodele, an esteemed scholar of Educational Management, EKSU has undergone a remarkable transformation”.
