Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has approved the recruitment of 1,800 teachers, 100 non-teaching staff, and 200 security personnel to strengthen the education sector and improve school safety across the state.
Chairman, Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Bello Abubakar, in a statement from Ilorin, announced that the recruitment process will soon commence online with priority to be given to staffing rural schools and addressing gaps in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education.
Abubaka said, applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education or equivalent qualifications such as B.Ed., B.Sc. (Ed.), B.A. (Ed.), or a university degree paired with teaching credentials like PGDE or NCE. Arts and Commercial subject specialists will also be considered for specific roles.
Candidates must not exceed 35 years of age by January’s end and will undergo mandatory drug testing as part of the government’s anti-drug abuse initiatives.
