A former Kano State Commissioner for Rural and Community Development, Abbas Abbas, has dumped the New Nigeria Peoples Party for the All Progressives Congress.
A statement by the Special Adviser to the Senate Deputy President, Barau Jibrin, on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir claimed Abbas’ defection to the APC was announced during a visit to the lawmaker’s house in Kano last night.
The statement said Jibrin received Abbas alongside the APC Chairman in Kano, Abdullahi Abbas and other party leaders, and the former commissioner pledged to work towards the success of his new party across Kano State and beyond.
