
The Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has announced plans to strengthen the operations of vigilante groups complementing security forces in the state by procuring 1,000 motorcycles for the vigilante groups to boost their mobility and efficiency.
Governor Idris made this disclosure while addressing newsmen after a closed-door security meeting, noting that there are no established bandit camps within the state.
He explained that most of the bandits operating in Kebbi infiltrate from neighbouring states, as the state shares borders with three states and two countries.
He emphasized that the state government has made significant efforts to address security challenges over the past year and would continue to build on the successes.
