The Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Rabiu, has ordered an investigation into the alleged assassination attempt of Senator Usman Lawal (PDP Kaduna-Central).
The command’s spokesperson, Mansir Hassan, disclosed this in a statement, stating that it is yet to receive a formal complaint from the distinguished senator, noting that efforts to contact him have proven abortive.
Hassan reiterated the state police command’s commitment to providing adequate security for all and sundry within the state.
The lawmaker had claimed to have escaped an assassination attempt by some thugs in a yet-to-be-identified location in Kaduna North on Wednesday but did not give details of the incident.
