The Arewa Consultative Forum ACF has expressed deep dismay over the military’s airstrike on the Silame community in Sokoto State, which tragically claimed 10 lives and left several others injured.
Describing the Christmas Day incident as “one mistake too many,” the ACF criticised the military’s explanation and called for accountability.
In a statement released in Kaduna, the ACF’s National Publicity Secretary, Prof. Tukur Muhammad-Baba described the Silame incident, as one far too many in the country nothing that it was not an isolated incident, as the memories of similar attacks on Tudun Biri community, Kaduna State, about a year ago, and earlier in Adamawa and Nasarawa states, with their gruesome statistics of casualties, remain fresh in memory.
It however lauded the Sokoto State Government for its swift response, including Governor Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu’s visit to the affected community.
