Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has commended elder statesman and founder of Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti, Afe Babalola, for his significant contributions to the construction of the Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport.
Oyebanji, in a letter dated December 18, revealed that the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority has granted the airport clearance to commence non-scheduled flight operations from December 13, 2024, to June 15, 2025.
He also appealed for Babalola’s continued support to achieve full commercial flight operation status.
The governor’s letter, titled ‘Letter of Appreciation’ and seen by journalists in Ado Ekiti on Thursday, expressed appreciation for Babalola’s financial assistance, particularly for the purchase of critical equipment such as the CVOR/DME navigational aids, control tower communications, and the construction of the car park.
