The Retiring Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu has admitted that one of his biggest regrets is his inability to apprehend the killers of the Finance Director attached to the Ogun State Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Taiwo Oyekanmi.
Oyekanmi was shot dead on November 29, 2023, after gunmen ambushed a bullion van he was in near Kuto Bridge, Abeokuta.
The attackers reportedly broke into the van using sledgehammers and escaped with a large sum of money.
Alamutu, who retired after 35 years of service today explained that despite the police efforts to track down the culprits, lack of information and intelligence to work with made it difficult for the police to have a breakthrough over the tragic incident.
Recall, Governor Dapo Abiodun placed a ₦50 million bounty for information on the assailants but no arrests have been made.
