President Bola Tinubu on Sunday congratulated President-elect John Dramani Mahama on his victory in Ghana’s general election, following his opponent’s concession speech.
Through his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu expressed optimism that Mahama’s return to power would foster stability in the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), where Tinubu serves as chairman.
The president commended Ghanaians for their commitment to democracy, demonstrated in the peaceful conduct of their elections.
He also applauded the New Patriotic Party’s candidate, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, for conceding before the official results were announced.
