Chairman of Hawkeye Security Services, Otunba Peter Obafemi has called on the government to take greater responsibility in creating a conducive environment for business investments in Nigeria.
Speaking to journalists after his investiture as an honorary fellow of the Institute of Strategic Management, Nigeria (ISMN) on Friday in Abuja, Obafemi stressed the need for strong leadership and a focus on improving productivity.
“Our biggest challenge as a nation is not just leadership or the absence of skilled manpower — it is low productivity,” Obafemi stated. “The government must prioritize creating a business-friendly environment where investors can thrive without unnecessary bottlenecks.”
He noted that only leadership with the will and determination to implement meaningful change can solve Nigeria’s productivity issues.
“Fixing Nigeria requires a mix of effectiveness — doing the right thing — and efficiency — doing things right. If we get this right, our economy will transform,” he added.
