Andy Murray is stepping back onto the tennis stage, but this time as Novak Djokovic’s coach.
The three-time Grand Slam winner, who retired in August, will join Djokovic’s team starting at the Australian Open in January.
Djokovic expressed his excitement, saying, “I’m thrilled to have one of my greatest rivals on my side as a coach. We’ve shared unforgettable moments, especially in Melbourne, and I can’t wait to start this journey with Andy.”
Murray, equally enthusiastic, remarked, “I’m looking forward to being on the same side of the net for a change and helping Novak achieve his goals.”
The collaboration marks a fresh chapter for Djokovic, who slipped to seventh in the world rankings in 2024 despite winning Olympic gold. Both players have a rich history at the Australian Open, with Djokovic defeating Murray in four finals.
