EFCC witness admits that Presidential approval were implemented prior to board of governors approval

EFCC WITNESS ADMITS THAT PRESIDENTIAL APPROVAL / REQUESTS FOR WERE IMPLEMENTED PRIOR TO COMMITTEE OF GOVERNORS AND BOARD APPROVAL., says COG and Board ratified the President’s approval on Redesign.
In continuation of the trial of the former Governor of the CBN, Godwin Emefiele at the FCT High Court Abuja presided over by Justice Maryanne Annenih, the EFCC witness, Dr Kingsley Obiora, under cross examination by the defence lead counsel, Lekan Ojo (SAN), admitted that it was normal for the CBN Committee of Governors to implement approvals/ requests from the president for actions that require the approval of the Committee of Governors and the Board. He confirmed that other than the President’s approval for currency redesign , the COG had severely implemented requests for disbursement of funds to Niger Republic Chad , Cameroon and the Nigerian Military in defence of Nigerian security prior to COG and Board approvals. Dr Obiora also confirmed that the COG and Board indeed ratified the prior approval of President Buhari. Pressed further to explain what he meant by the word “ ratification “ , Dr Obiora , further defined the word “ratification “to mean the Validation of an earlier approval of President Buhari. It will be recalled that the former CBN Governor is currently being charged for obtaining Presidential approval for the currency redesign before obtaining the COG and Board Aproval of the CBN. The EFCC itself admits that the former CBN Governor obtain approval of the President but only before the Board approval rather than after its board’s approval.
