The Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, former advisor Steve Bannon has been released from prison after spending four-months behind bars.
Bannon released from Danbury, Connecticut was met early Tuesday morning by his daughter Maureen. He is expected to host his radio program later Tuesday morning.
“I’m not broken, I’m empowered,” the 70-year-old reacted outside the prison.
Bannon, a conservative podcast host who was key to Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, was convicted of two counts of contempt of Congress in 2022 for refusing to comply with a congressional subpoena related to a January 6 Capitol riot investigation.
Before he was sent to jail, Bannon consistently expressed loyalty to Trump and hostility toward Democratic figures.
