The Presidency has made some clarification regarding President Bola Tinubu’s reshuffling of his cabinet.
Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said ministers were not sacked but discharged.
Speaking on a television interview, Onanuga said the term “sacked” does not accurately describe their departure.
According to him, “Ministers were not sacked; they were discharged.
Recall Seven ministers were earlier on Wednesday shown the way out while seven were appointed as Tinubu reshuffled his cabinet.
The cabinet reshuffle, announced on Wednesday, affected Uju-Ken Ohanenye (Women Affairs), Lola Ade-John (Tourism), Tahir Mamman (Education), Abdullahi Gwarzo (Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development), and Jamila Ibrahim (Youth Development).
