Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, has placed the Commissioner for Special Duties, Auwalu Sankara, on suspension while an investigation is conducted into allegations raised by the Hisbah of Kano State.
The Hisbah Board apprehended Sankara while he was in an uncompleted building with a married woman, following multiple complaints about his illicit activities with the woman.
Hisbah had confirmed the arrest and confinement of Auwal yesterday, noting that the arrest was facilitated by the woman’s brother-in-law.
The commissioner’s family is yet to comment on the case.
