No Death, Injuries Recorded as Two Storey Building Collapse in Orile Igamu

Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA and other emergency response team, have confirmed a two-storey residential building at 20, Amusu street, Bale bus stop, SARI, Orile Igamu, self-collapsed, due to distress.

Lagos State Building Control Agency, in a statement stated that occupants of the collapsed building had been served notice to quit as the building was designated distressed, but some occupants remained recalcitrant

Although there was no loss of lives and no injuries, the statement explained that the agency has cordoned off the site, and carried out further assessment on the adjoining Two (2) storey building which reveals that the building was also distressed and unhabitable for occupants.

All occupants in the said building have been evacuated from the distressed building for safety reasons. Operation ongoing.
