There is confusion in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following the suspension of key national officers including National Chairman, Amb. Illiya Damagum, National Secretary and Senator Samuel Anyanwu.
Also suspended are National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, and National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade.
A statement by PDP National Director of Publicity, Chinwe Nnorom said PDP’s National Working Committee (NWC) suspended Ologunagba and Ajibade for alleged misconduct, directing their deputies to take over.
Meanwhile, another statement by Ologunagba announced the suspension of Damagum and Anyanwu over a letter they sent to the Court of Appeal, allegedly contradicting the party’s position in a case involving defected Rivers State lawmakers.
The PDP remains divided since the 2023 Polls with part of the disagreement caused by the continued stay of Damagum as acting national chairman, and anti-party activities by high profile members.
