Former President Goodluck Jonathan has called on the National Judicial Commission to end the proliferation of court orders and judgements, especially those of concurrent jurisdiction giving conflicting orders.
In a statement today, Jonathan who compared the current political crisis in Rivers State to the crisis of the old Western region, stated that the embarrassing cases of conflicting judgements ridicules the institution of the judiciary and derail democracy.
This is as he called on all stakeholders within the security sector, including the Judiciary, to as a matter of urgency, wade into the political situation in the state to forestall a breakdown of law and order.
According to Jonathan, he is aware that the ongoing Local Government election in the state has been a matter of interest to political stakeholders in recent times, hence the call to action.
