Popular Nigerian Islamic singer, Rukayat Gawat Oyefeso has been laid to rest in Ijebu Aiyepe, Ogun State.
Her death was confirmed earlier by her brother and Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on New Media to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Jubril Gawat earlier on Tuesday.
His post read, “Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.” Q 2 V 156
She was well-known for her captivating voice and religious music that resonated with many in the Muslim community.
The late artiste on September 14, 2024 reportedly did a 12-year remembrance for her missing dad, the popular Islamic presenter and broadcaster, Aremu Gawat, whose whereabouts remained unknown since July 2012.
