Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has reassured residents affected by the Ibadan Circular Road corridor that no additional demolitions of houses or properties will occur along the route.
Makinde provided this assurance today while addressing thousands of affected residents who gathered in protest at the Oyo State Government Secretariat in Agodi, Ibadan.
The protesters carried placards, and banners and sang appeal songs to plead for the stoppage of the 500-meter corridor on the Ibadan Circular Road by the government.
The governor emphasised that all existing structures within the 150-meter corridor will be included in the government’s plans, but cautioned that no new developments, including foundations or buildings, should take place on any land within the corridor.
