Kogi State Assembly has called for the removal of the EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, alleging an attempt on the life of former governor Yahaya Bello, in a purported bid to arrest him.
During a plenary session, the lawmakers expressed their strong disapproval of the EFCC’s “unjustified assault” on the Kogi State Government Lodge, characterizing it as an affront to Governor Usman Ododo and kogi people.
The speaker of the house, Aliyu Yusuf, while delivering the House’s resolution, said the April 17 and September 18 incidents can be categorized as assassination attempts on the former Governor, and by extension, a threat to the life of Governor Usman Ododo.
According to him, the house has resolved that the President should relieve the EFCC chairman of his appointment with immediate effect and replace him with a competent officer who will give credence to the rule of law.
