The governorship candidate the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Asue Ighodalo has expressed disappointment at the late arrival of electoral materials by over two hours at his voting center in Okaigben Ward 1, Unit 3.
Ighodalo who arrived at 10:30 AM, also condemned the reported arrests of PDP chieftains in Uromi, Esan North East LGA, suggesting potential intimidation tactics.
Furthermore, Ighodalo pointed out similar delays in Owan West Local Government Area frame but advocated for an extension of voting hours to compensate for the lost time.
“As you can see, INEC officials and materials just arrived and they are well over two hours late.
“Well, we are still well around the allocated time for voting; let us see what we can achieve between now and close of voting hours,’’ he said.
According to him, it will only be fair if the voting hours are extended by the numbers of hours lost.
