Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has appointed Dr. Law Mefor as the new Commissioner for Information, replacing Mr. Paul Nwosu who was dismissed earlier.
At the swearing-in ceremony in Awka, Governor Soludo stressed the importance of accurate and timely information. He praised Mefor’s experience and expertise, which are expected to revitalize the state’s information services.
Dr. Mefor, a seasoned writer and media personality with over 25 years of experience, plans to promote media literacy, prevent misinformation, and modernize the information ministry using technology. He aims to make the ministry more efficient, responsive, and accessible.
Some of Mefor’s key objectives include: Promoting Media Literacy: Providing critical thinking tools to evaluate information and prevent misinformation, Modernizing the Information Ministry: Leveraging technology for efficiency, responsiveness, and accessibility and Collaborating with Media Organizations: Fostering partnerships to achieve Governor Soludo’s vision
