The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, has announced a N1 million reward for troops involved in a successful operation in Zamfara State.
The operation resulted in the elimination of Halilu Sububu Buzu, a notorious bandit leader responsible for numerous attacks and kidnappings in the region.
General Musa praised the troops for their bravery and precision, emphasisng the importance of their efforts in securing the North West.
He stated that the reward is a recognition of their dedication and a motivation for continued excellence.
The Joint Task Force Northwest Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) carried out the raid in Mayanchi village, Zamfara, where several bandits, including Buzu, were neutralized.
The operation also led to the recovery of weapons and 30 motorcycles, significantly weakening the bandit group’s capabilities.
