The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed killing at least 28 terrorists in strikes at Bassa, Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger.
According to the Deputy Director, Public Relations and Information, NAF, Capt. Kabiru Ali, the Air Component of Operation Whirl Punch executed the operation targeted at the criminal elements terrorising communities in the local government area.
According to him, the NAF air assets observed over 100 terrorists engaging friendly forces in a fierce firefight before carrying out the precision attack.
Ali was however quiet about the status of two operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) said to have been ambushed by the terrorists during the attack.
