Arsenal’s Martin Odegaard is set to miss at least three weeks of action after suffering an ankle injury with Norway on international duty.
Odegaard limped off in the second half of his country’s 2-1 win over Austria in the Nations League on Monday, in worrying signs for the Gunners’ supporters.
Norway’s team doctor Ola Sand said the 25-year-old, who underwent medical examinations in London, avoided a broken ankle but is expected to be out of action for at least the rest of September.
News of Odegaard’s injury comes as a huge blow for Mikel Arteta, with Declan Rice, Mikel Merino, and Riccardo Calafiorri likely to miss their North London derby against Tottenham on Sunday.
