The Dangote Petroleum Refinery is preparing to launch the sale of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, following a successful test run of its 650,000-barrel-per-day capacity.
According to a report by Punch, sources confirmed that the product will soon be available on the market, with discussions ongoing between the government and Dangote Group to finalize distribution plans.
Currently, only the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) is authorised to sell fuel from the Dangote refinery.
The refinery faced delays due to crude oil shortages and regulatory disputes but is now moving forward after the Federal Government intervened to ensure local crude oil supply.
The refinery has also faced challenges with international oil companies prioritizing sales to foreign markets, but efforts to secure local crude at fair prices continue.
As the refinery prepares to roll out its petrol, Nigerians are hopeful that Dangote will crash the pump price of PMS.
