A 35-year-old man, Emmanuel Urhobocha has reportedly committed suicide in his apartment in Sango-Ota, Ogun State, on Friday, August 30.
The incident came to light when Urhobocha’s roommate, Obabiyi David, reported to the Sango-Ota Police that his flatmate had attacked him with a knife and was behaving strangely.
When police arrived, they found the room locked from inside. After forcing entry, they discovered Urhobocha lying face down, with a container of insecticide nearby.
Ogun State Police spokesperson, Odutola Omolola, confirmed that Urhobocha was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Odutola said, “He was discovered dead in the apartment, with a container of insecticide found next to his body.
“He was promptly transported to a local hospital for medical attention, but the attending doctor confirmed him dead. His body has been placed in the morgue for an autopsy, and the incident remains under investigation.”
