One of the lawyers for detained #Endbadgovernance protesters, Deji Adeyanju has accused the Federal Government of deliberately refusing to arraign the protesters.
According to Adeyanju, it is the fourth time the Police has refused to arraign them.
Consequently, Adeyanju said he would sue the Federal Government on Monday.
He said, “Currently, 100 protesters are in police custody in Abuja, but on Monday we ensure all of them are freed.
“It’s obvious Police don’t have anything to charge protesters
“The police do not want to charge them because they have nothing on them but they just want to keep them perpetually.”
“We’re going to sue FG on Monday. We are going to sue them on Monday. They are punishing the protesters for protesting, and they are also trying to prevent future protests from holding; arresting protesters and refusing to charge them, and that also means they do not have anything tangible on them, and if they have they would have charged them since.
“Their refusal to charge them, they should release them because this is the fourth time they told us they are going to charge them, and throughout today we were all in court, a coalition of different lawyers were all in court but they failed to show up.”
