The Nigerian Army has vowed to investigate allegations that soldiers killed three locals and over 100 cattle in Kaduna State.
Villagers accused troops from the 1 Division of the Nigerian Army of carrying out the killings at a cattle market in Sabon Birnin, Igabi LGA, on Sunday.
In response, the Director of Army Public Relations, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, assured that the incident would be thoroughly investigated, and any personnel found responsible would face appropriate sanctions.
While seeking for calm, the statement conveyed the condolence of Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja to families of the victims.
