The Minister of Works, David Umahi says the Federal Government will not embark on any new projects for the 2025 fiscal year as it intends to focus on abandoned projects.
At a media briefing in Abuja marking his first year in office, He said the decision was reached at the Ministry level and would remain so unless otherwise dictated by President Bola Tinubu.
The Minister also decried a N16tn funding gap on over 4,000 ongoing projects he claimed the current administration inherited.
The minister further explained that inflation has contributed significantly to the rising cost of most of these projects and it would be in the nation’s best interest for them to be completed before embarking on any new ones.
