The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has revealed that examination boards in Kenya and Uganda are verifying records of Nigerian candidates seeking admission into their tertiary institutions.
According to a document titled – Registrar’s Report on 2023 ADMISSION & 2024 UTME, the verification request follows recent cases of fake certifications detected by JAMB.
Recall the Federal Government recently suspended degree certificate verification from countries like Uganda, Kenya, Benin Republic, and Togo, due to allegations of certificate racketeering.
But JAMB restated its commitment to protecting Nigeria’s educational reputation and vowed not to falsify any student records.
