The Court of Appeal in Abuja has ordered former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, to appear for arraignment.
This follows a prolonged legal dispute with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which had previously issued a warrant for his arrest after he failed to comply with court orders.
Bello’s legal team, led by Abdulwahab Mohammed, SAN, has requested that the case be moved to Kogi State, arguing that only the Lokoja Division of the high court has the jurisdiction to handle the charges since the alleged offenses occurred during his tenure as governor.
But in the latest ruling, the court restrained Bello from taking any further action in the case until he is formally arraigned.
