
Lagos state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has declared Tuesday, August 20, as a work-free day for all public servants in the State, as part of the activities lined up to mark the 2024 Isese Day celebration.
The Governor through a circular by the Head of Service, Bode Agoro said the action is in line with commitment to give necessary support to traditional institutions, as well as enhance the promotion of indigenous tradition by preserving cultural heritage.
Sanwo-Olu also stated that work would resume in all public offices including courts, across the state on Wednesday, allowing traditional religious worshippers celebrate their day, and civil servants a day of rest for better productivity.
In a related development, Ogun state government, through the special adviser to the governor on media and strategy, kayode akinmade, has declared tomorrow august 20, a public holiday to celebrate this year’s isese day, urging the traditional worshippers to celebrate in moderation and respect the rights of others during the celebration.
