Chinese firm Zhongshan Fucheng Industrial Investment Co. Ltd. has released one of the three Nigerian Airbus A330 aircraft that were detained in France following a court order from a Paris judicial court.
VeonewsNG reported that the firm had seized a Dassault Falcon 7X, a Boeing 737-7N6/BBJ, and an Airbus A330-243 belonging to the Nigerian federal government, which were stationed at Paris-Le Bourget and Basel-Mulhouse airports.
But on Friday – the company announced that it will release one of the seized jets – Airbus A330 as a “goodwill gesture” ahead of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s upcoming meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron.
The firm indicated that President Tinubu will be permitted to use the Airbus A330, which is currently detained in France due to the French court order obtained by Zhongshan, for his trip to France.
The French court recently authorized the seizure of three Nigerian presidential jets to enforce a $74.5 million compensation award to Zhongshan whose export processing zone management contract was revoked by the Ogun State government in 2016.
