Justice Chukujekwu Aneke of the Federal High Court, Lagos has ordered the permanent forfeiture of five properties allegedly linked to former Managing Director of Nigerian Army Properties Limited (NAPL), Major-General Umar Mohammed.
The properties, located in Ikoyi, Marina, and Apapa, were forfeited to the federal government following a motion by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The EFCC claims these properties were fraudulently misappropriated and sale proceeds diverted for personal use.
This ruling follows a previous interim forfeiture order issued on March 4, 2024. The judge deemed the final forfeiture in the interest of justice and in favor of NAPL.
Recall Major General Mohammed was previously sentenced to seven years imprisonment by a special court-martial in October 2022 for corruption, forgery, and abuse of office.
