Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has appointed three second-class Emirs for Rano, Gaya, and Karaye.
In a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Tofa on Wednesday, it was noted that these new emirates will serve as second-class emirates, with Kano remaining the first-class emirate.
Yusuf appointed Alhaji Muhammad Karaye as the Emir of Karaye, who was previously the District Head of Rogo.
Alhaji Muhammad Umar was named the Emir of Rano; he was formerly the District Head of Bunkure.
Alhaji Aliyu Abdulkadir Gaya was appointed as the Emir of Gaya. He had previously been the emir of the now-defunct Gaya emirate before being dethroned recently.
