The Delta State Independent Electoral Commission has named the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) winner of the local government elections conducted in all 25 local government areas of the state.
According to the executive summary of the results presented by the Chairman of the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission, Jerry Agbaike, the PDP won overwhelmingly, securing all but one Councillorship seat out of 500 wards.
The sole exception was a single Councillorship seat won by the Allied Peoples Movement.
In a related development, the PDP also emerged triumphant in Adamawa State’s Saturday election, winning all 21 local government council chairmanship seats.
Furthermore, the PDP dominated the councillor seats, securing 225 wins and losing only one seat to the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
This was announced on Sunday by the Chairman of Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC), Muhammed Umar.
