Former President of the Senate and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, has officially joined the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
VeonewsNG gathered that the former lawmaker dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for APC and was formally received into the party alongside other stakeholders in the Southeast on Saturday by the national chairman of the party, Abdullahi Ganduje.
Anyim said, “We wanted to appreciate Governor Francis Nwifuru’s great works and reconciling various political divides of the state, making them stay under one roof.
“We are aware of the enormous economic and socio-cultural challenges confronting the country and the need to patriotically support President Bola Tinubu to surmount the challenges.
“We intend to collaborate with all federal appointees from the state especially the Minister of Works, Umahi to support and step down President Tinubu’s life-uplifting policies to Ebonyi people,” he said.
The event took place at the Abakaliki Stadium during the party’s rally.
Governors and other party stalwarts including the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma were in attendance.
