The Kogi State House of Assembly has today approved the extension of the tenure of Transition Committee Chairmen by another Six months.
The extension of the tenure of the Transition Committee Chairmen is a sequel to a letter sent to the House by Governor Ahmed Ododo.
Ododo in the letter submitted that paucity of funds, and high wage bills are some of the reasons why Local Government elections cannot be conducted in the state, appealing for extension of tenure.
Speaker of the House Umar Yusuf who read the letter charged the chairmen to be good ambassadors of their respective Local Governments.
The tenure of the 21 Transition Committee Chairmen in Kogi State was expected to expire on the 8th of July, 2024.
