Afrobeats star Wizkid on Thursday help his mother’s memory become a global trending topic as he openly grieved her loss on what would have been her birthday.
Wizkid’s mum named Jane Morayo Balogun passed away on August 18, 2023, in London.
The singer in a tribute to her admitted that life has been empty without her.
In a heartfelt message on his X handle, he wrote: “Happy birthday, love of my life! I miss you every day. The first one without you here feels unreal. Nothing makes sense without you, mama! Life is empty without you. Continue to watch over us! My heart is broken forever! Love you, love you, MORAYO mi. Your smile is a memory I will never forget. Your laugh! Your hugs and kisses. I miss you dearly!”
Wizkid recalled his mother’s smile, laughter, hugs, and kisses, stating his heart is broken forever.
He recently announced plans to honor her memory with a new album titled “Morayo,” though the release date remains undisclosed.
