The Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, has mourned the death of 14 worshippers who were killed by a trailer following an accident after Juma’at prayers on Friday, in Kano.
Barau, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, commiserated with the families of the deceased, praying for the repose of the souls of the deceased and the speedy recovery of all the injured persons.
The lawmaker also appealed to motorists to be vigilant and ensure their vehicles are in good condition before embarking on any journey.
The Federal Road Safety Corps had on Friday confirmed the death of 14 worshippers when a trailer ran over them after Friday prayers at Imawa town in Kura LGA of Kano State.
